"Moki has a massive impact on children not interested in playing football."
Vicci Watts, Class Teacher, Crowan School
In what ways have Moki Bands had an impact in your school?
Because I was looking for a way to inspire inactive children to be more active rather than just playing competitive sport, which they're not interested in. So it had a massive impact on children who didn't want to play football or didn't want to run around. But actually they were all doing lots more walking, regularly checking and being excited about having lots more steps And actually they had more steps than children who'd played football. So it was a real eye opener for those children who thought they were really active and actually they weren't.
What advice would you give to other teachers looking to boost physical activity in school?
I would say that Moki watches are really good for boosting physical activity in the school, particularly in your low active children, your inactive group, because it takes away the any kind of competitive element being boisterous, you know, having to be having to compete directly against other children. And actually, like I said before, it really surprised some of our most active children that actually playing football doesn't necessarily make you really active or other kind of sports aren't always active because you do a lot of time standing around waiting. Whereas with these watches the children were always really keen to be physically active all break time and lunchtime.
