Why We’re Renaming the PE & Sport Premium

Over the past 12 years, the UK government has poured over £1 billion into the PE & Sport Premium, giving primary schools around £16,000 a year to improve PE, school sport, and physical activity.

That funding has done a lot of good - but here’s the question:
How much of it can we actually prove made a difference?

That’s what inspired us to write this new guide.
It’s part insight, part provocation, and part practical resource - for schools who want to do more than tick a funding box.

Why the name doesn’t fit anymore

The funding is still officially called the PE & Sport Premium. But we think it’s outgrown the name.

It’s not just about PE. It’s not just about sport.

It’s about building a culture of daily movement that supports every child - even the ones who don’t love PE. It’s about inclusion, wellbeing, and learning.

So in the guide, we offer a new name:
The ‘Let’s Get Your Whole School Moving and Prove It’ Premium 😉
Because with the right tools, you can do both.

Real results. Real data. Real value.

With just £760 - less than the price of an iPad - schools using Moki Bands can prove how active their pupils are, every day.
No guesswork. No surveys. Just real, measurable insight into movement across your school.

  • No subscriptions.

  • No setup headaches.

  • Fully shareable between classes and groups.

And yes — it hits all five PE & Sport Premium indicators.
