How schools are investing in Moki with their PE & Sport Premium

Many primary schools up and down the country are already using their PE and Sport Premium (PESP) grants to fund Moki.

With the summer term starting belatedly and under unusual circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, now is the time to ensure any remaining Sport Premium budget is spent wisely. Moki provides schools with an active learning solution that can be implemented quickly and have an immediate and long-lasting impact on children’s health and wellbeing.

Moki is a perfect fit for the PESP

Moki is also perfectly aligned with the eligibility criteria for PESP funding set out by the government. When the initiative started in 2013, they published five key factors for schools to take into consideration when looking to spend their PESP allocation.

Any product or initiative should:

• Encourage the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity 
• Raise the profile of PE and sport as a tool for whole-school improvement
• Increase the confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
• Provide broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
• Increase participation in competitive sport

Not only does Moki neatly tick all of these boxes, it also provides schools with the tools to show stakeholders that the money has been well spent.

We asked some Moki users about how they have benefited from using their PESP entitlement to fund Moki. 

“For years, I’ve been looking at ways of using the Sports Premium to raise the profile of our PE department and get kids excited in active learning, but I never found anything that’s come close to Moki,” said Stacey Cannon, PE Lead at Selby Abbey Primary School. “Whether it’s class challenges, competitions or special events like Sports Aid, Moki can bring the whole school together and get them engaged in physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.”
